working TV #127 November 13 1998 Slim Evans 1998
"high school MAI
The MAI may be D.O.A. but that hasn't stopped four local high school students from completing this irreverent, refreshing and often hilarious new video on the Multilateral Agreement on Investment (MAI). Jocelyn Hallett, Beth Grayer, Simon Rotheisler and Mathew Vis-Dunbar are grade 11 and 12 students at Van Tech school in East Vancouver, located just minutes away from working TV. They became concerned about the MAI last spring, but couldn't find educational material on the trade agreement suitable for their fellow students so they decided to make their own!
"high school MAI" is the result.
They hope their 25 minute production will be used in high school social studies classes everywhere. working TV staff met these students in March 1998 at the Vancouver IWD rally. Since then, they have had the use of our edit suite, in return for this, the world premiere broadcast of "high school MAI"
"Slick Tongue Money Maker Sam"
(aka Beth Grayer) squares off against
"J.J. Leafbiter" (aka Jocelyn Hallett)
in scene from "high school MAI"
