Week 4 of 6 weeks of Special Programming on Globalization, Global Capital & the World Trade Organization
| "The tide turned in Seattle today . . . We represent a clear alternative to corporate rule and we will no longer be shut out of the hallways of power." - Maude Barlow |
The Last Protest of the Century! was organized by the B.C. Federation of Labour, on Tuesday evening November 30 1999, for people who couldn't make it to Seattle for the huge anti-WTO protest earlier that day. It drew 700 people who packed the ballroom at the Hyatt Hotel in Vancouver. They saw video shot earlier that same day at the giant anti-WTO Seattle protest, and a speech from Maude Barlow that drew several standing ovations.
