With the increasing privatization of public services, public sector unions are representing increased numbers of low-waged workers employed by private corporations. Our sisters and brothers in the British trade union movement have made significant gains for low-waged workers by teaming up with both labour and community organizations. The central message is simple. All workers deserve a fair day's pay. Why? Because poverty wages hurt families, weaken our communities and undermine other workers' wages. |
